Crush Multiple-Choice Exams in Law School

Insider Tip: Success on multiple-choice exams isn’t just about memorizing rules—it’s about mastering the nuances and spotting the subtle difference between an almost right answer and the exactly right one.

Challenge Yourself: Set a goal for how many multiple-choice questions you’ll complete before midterms in each subject. Then go one level deeper—review every miss. Understanding why you got a question wrong is where the real learning (and lasting confidence) happens.

Yesterday during a coaching session, a student asked me how to prep for her looming multiple-choice midterm: memorize rules or drill more practice questions?

My answer surprised her: neither.

There’s an efficient strategy that does both and more—and it’s the trick that separates “just studying” from truly understanding how to excel on multiple-choice exams.
